Italian Financial and Insurance Markets Regulation 

Italian financial and insurance markets are supervised by three National Competent Authorities.

The Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB) is the public authority responsible for regulating the Italian financial markets and protection of the investing public. The authority ensures: transparency and correct behaviour by financial market participants; disclosure of complete and accurate information to the investing public by listed companies; accuracy of the facts represented in the prospectuses related to offerings of transferable securities to the investing public; compliance with regulations by auditors entered in the Special Register. It also investigates about potential infringements of insider dealing and market manipulation law.

Istituto per la vigilanza sulle assicurazioni (Ivass)

The Institute for the Supervision of Insurance aims to ensure adequate protection of insured persons. To do so, promotes the sound and prudent management of insurance and reinsurance undertakings and their transparency and fairness towards customers. IVASS also pursues the stability of the financial system and markets.

Banca d'Italia

The Bank of Italy is the central bank of Italy. It is a public-law institution regulated by national and European legislation, and also part of the Eurosystem. 
The Bank pursues the aims of price stability and efficiency of the financial system.
